A pinky ring is the one piece of jewelry a man can wear that says something without saying much. It sits on the left hand, the face is small, and one stone is enough. A lab-grown diamond makes the stone a real diamond, graded like any other, at a price that lets you go bigger than you would with a mined one.
Lab-grown means diamond, not a look-alike
A lab-grown diamond is carbon grown under heat and pressure (HPHT) or from vapour (CVD). It has the same hardness and fire as a mined stone, and it gets an IGI or GIA grading report. It is not cubic zirconia or moissanite. Every LUCE stone comes with its report.
Two ways to wear it
Statement. The Pinky takes 1.5 to 2.5 ct in a handmade bezel, set in 18k yellow gold. The bezel wraps the stone in metal, so the edge is protected and nothing catches on a cuff. This is the ring for a man who wants the stone to be the point.
Everyday. The Pinky Ring takes 0.25 to 0.5 ct, flush-set into 10k or 14k gold. Flush-set means the stone sits level with the metal. It reads as a glint, not a rock, and it stands up to daily wear.
Sizing
A pinky usually runs two to three sizes smaller than your ring finger. Have the finger sized at the end of the day, when it is at its largest. If you sit between two sizes, go up. A pinky ring should turn with a little resistance and come off over the knuckle without a fight.
Gold
18k is richer in colour and softer; it suits a bezel and a larger stone. 14k is harder and the safer choice for a ring worn every day. 10k is the hardest and the most affordable, with a paler yellow.
